Helps to Intercession

By Andrew Murray

What to Pray – For the Spirit of Holiness

God is the Holy One. His people is a holy people. He speaks: I am holy: I am the Lord which make you holy. Christ prayed: Sanctify them. Make them holy through Truth. Paul prayed: God establish your hearts unblameable in holiness. God sanctify you wholly!

Pray for all saints – God’s holy ones – throughout the Church, that the Spirit of holiness may rule them. Specially for new converts. For the saints in your own neighborhood or congregation. For any you are specially interested in. Think of their special need, weakness, or sin, and pray that God may make them holy.

How to Pray – Trusting in God ‘s Omnipotence

The things that are impossible with men are possible with God. When we think of the great things we ask for, of how little likelihood there is of their coming, of our own insignificance, prayer is not only wishing, or asking, but believing and accepting. Be still before God and ask Him to let you know Him as the Almighty One, and leave your petitions with Him Who doeth wonders.

Bubba, this course has already made a change in my outlook. When I am doing my errands I am starting to really see individuals and get a sense that they are in need of prayer. Starting the morning with you gives my day and my mind a real direction. And making a point of starting my morning asking God to be filled with The Holly Spirit Gives a whole new meaning to my walk daily with Christ. Thank you again for doing this.

Thank you so much for the encouragement, Sandy. I’ve always marveled that most of the encounters you see with Jesus were on a one to one basis. Jesus took the time to address the needs of each person individually. He certainly had the ability to be a stadium style preacher, preaching to over 5000, but the intimate settings in which He addressed issues and encouraged people are a good example to us of how to do lasting and meaningful ministry. If Jesus were walking the earth today, I believe He would be answering questions at the beach, on fishing boats, at Starbucks, and of course Chik fil A.(but not on Sundays)

I’m so glad this has been an encouragement to you. I miss those talks where we used to sit around and joke about our wives buying shoes, etc 😉 I look forward to the day when we can hang out again!
