PrayerMinder Day 1
Helps to Intercession
By Andrew Murray
What to Pray – For the Power of the Holy Spirit.
I bow my Knees unto the Father, that He would grant you that ye may be strengthened with power through His Spirit. – Eph. 3:14-16.
Wait for the promise of the Father. – Acts 1:4.
“The fuller manifestation of the grace and energy of the blessed Spirit of God, in the removal of all that is contrary to God’s revealed will, so that we grieve not the Holy Spirit, but that He may work in mightier power in the Church, for the exaltation of Christ and the blessing of souls.” God has one promise to and through His exalted Son; our Lord has one gift to His Church; the Church has one need; all prayer unites in the one petition – the power of the Holy Spirit. Make it your one prayer.
How to Pray – As a Child Asks a Father
If a son ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone!
How much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him? – Luke 11:11,13.
Ask as simply and trustfully as a child asks bread. You can do this because “God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts crying, Abba, Father. ” This Spirit is in you to give you childlike confidence. In the faith of His praying in you, ask for the power of that Holy Spirit everywhere. Mention places or circles where you specially ask it to be seen.
Thank you Pastor Mark for leading us in this opportunity to pray as a church. I’ve read Andrew Murray’s The Masters Indwelling and Absolute Surrender and have been inspired from his insights and teachings. I did a week of fasting from social media and news before this opportunity came and I can tell you it brings a refreshment and refocus to your life. Not that one should be totally oblivious to what’s happening in the world but does help you to have the correct perspective and see things through a biblical lens. Looking forward to meeting with you each day and God bless you!
Thank you so much, Kathy. I believe setting apart time for God during times of trouble is always the right response. I have seen so many of my brothers and sisters discouraged by what’s on the news. It’s time to focus on the Good News!
Blessings on you Pastor Mark! What a timely and necessary call to prayer for us, our nation and His church. Thank you for bringing this to us. I want to see the list of pray warriors grow like His church. Today it looks like we started with 15 participants and how many more will join us tomorrow and the next day?
God bless you, Tom. Glad you are joining us. I think we have 163 subscribers!
Thank you Pastor Mark for this opportunity to come together as a church and pray corporately as we fast from social and news media. Praying that God will bless His church and do a mighty work in our community, state and nation as we surrender to Him. Praying for you and all the pastoral team at Cross Connection.
God Bless you,
Amen. Thank you, Pam.
I am looking forward to this 31 day ride, Pastor Mark (Bubba). It will be interesting to see what will change For me without social and news media and drawing closer to Jesus through prayer. Thank you Mark. I appreciate the church drawing us together For this experience.
I’m glad you are joining us, Sandy. It will be good for all of us to take a break from the media. Let us know how the Lord works in your life through this. I can’t wait to hear everyone’s stories.
